Label Samples
The RNAs from both the reference and experimental samples are isolated using Qiagen RNA kits.
The quality of the RNA is critical to the success of the experiment!
Hybridization probes are created by converting the RNA to cDNA. During this
conversion process, an amino allyl modified dUTP is incorporated into the
newly synthesized cDNA.
The sample is labeled by coupling NHS-ester Cy3 or Cy5 fluorophores to the cDNA via the
modified dUTP.

modified from a protocol in the DeRisi lab
