    Data Capture
  • Once the images for each wavelength are collected, intensity and quality
measurements are captured for each spot in the array.
  • We are currently using ScanAlyze by Michael Eisen to capture this data.
This software is freely available to academic laboratories and is capable of extracting
fluorescence intensities, background intensities, fluorescence ratios and a number of
quality control parameters for each spot (gene) in the array. The software package has
a graphical user interface (GUI) that will let the investigator define the spot locations
(gridding), flag suspect spots and extract the data to a tab-delimited text file.
  • Alternative commercial packages are also being evaluated.
  •
            Workflow
  • We are in the process of creating web based workflow schemes to manage the array workflow.
